Day 10 Tuesday August 15
Extreme worship always looks to be extreme foolishness to those who stand at a distance.
DURING THE PROCESSION of the Ark, there was one notable absentee. Michal, the daughter of Saul and wife of David, looked at the event through the palace window. Michal was appalled at David’s lack of regard for how people perceived his passion, his humility in attire, and his complete lack of public decorum. Instead of greeting him with honor, she tried to shame him. But when David returned to bless his household, Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David and said, “How the king of Israel distinguished himself today! He uncovered himself today in the eyes of his servants’ maids as one of the foolish ones shamelessly uncovers himself!” (2 Samuel 6:20 NASB) Some things can only be understood from within. Such is the case with authentic worship.
DAILY SCRIPTURE READING: 2 SAMUEL 6:20
Father, I want to express myself extravagantly in worship to You without shame… just like David did. Honoring Your Presence is more important than anyone’s opinion of me. Please give me the grace to live a life of extravagant worship before You, the extravagant Father.
WHAT FATHER IS SAYING TO ME TODAY?
