January 1992, Senior Pastor Duane Lowe answered the call to San Antonio. It was just a few months earlier that Pastor Lowe ministered at a youth camp for a local church just a short drive from the city. Upon returning home, Pastor Lowe vividly recounts adjusting the rear view mirror of a small Chevrolet Nova and seeing the skyline of San Antonio. It was at that moment that God spoke to him, and told him this is where he would begin a brand new church plant. Pastor Lowe remembers being filled with emotions, and through tear-filled eyes, receiving the call to Texas.
March 1, 1992, Pastor found a small storefront on Pat Booker Road near Randolph Air Force Base in Universal City, TX. It was here that people from all walks of life began learning of the new pastor in town and began gathering with him for the purpose of sharing the gospel message with people far from God.
The church quickly outgrew it’s rented space and moved up to a larger suite. Soon Pastor Lowe and several men where knocking walls down to accommodate the growth, but it became all too clear that God wanted them to build on the 18+ acres of property donated to the church two years into the church plant.
July 2005, after waiting over a year in a temporary building south of New Braunfels, TX, New Life Fellowship began meeting in a brand new facility on the land God had given almost 12 years prior. Since then, New Life experienced explosive growth and today we are excited about the people that God is bringing together to partner in the mission of leading people to become fully devoted followers of Christ.
And now, New Life Fellowship is excited to announce the plans to build a children’s and youth facility for the sole purpose of extending our vision to more effectively reach the youth of our city and lead them to experience FREEDOM in Christ and build healthy RELATIONSHIPS.
