Statement of Faith
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God the Father has revealed himself to us as the Son that died for us and returned as the Holy Spirit that dwells in us.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is God manifested in flesh. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is active in the world today and that the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with His accompanying gifts, is the privilege of all believers. “The promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” The Holy Spirit provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in living a godly life. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily.
THE HOLY BIBLE
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, a divine revelation from God to man. We accept the Scriptures as the final authority in all matters of faith that is forever pointing us to the Cross of Christ. It is inspired by God the and is the supreme source of truth for Christian’s everywhere.
We believe that all men have sinned and stand in need of redemption, which is obtained through the new birth by faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. We can never make up for our sin by self:improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self:ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Those repenting of sin and being born again become Children of God.
We believe that following repentance from sin and declaring faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, new believers are commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water as public evidence of that faith. Water baptism is an essential part of our Christian experience. It is another step in our journey from a life of sin to a life with Jesus.
We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the Church are those who have trusted by faith in the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the Church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making him known to the lost world.
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence.
